a Disciples diary

Thursday 9 November

Our last day in Amsterdam and in the Netherlands.

During the morning we had a very specific time with Sheranne and Froukje dpeaking about campus ministry and what the next steps for them would be on campus.

I am expectant to see how God will use their faithfulness, their availability, their teachability and just their deep desire to see God do something on campus. We have seen in the past how God is able to use ordinary students to do extraordinary things for Him – may we see God do great things again!!

Today we really felt the effect of the past couple of days. Early mornings, full programs and late evenings. I really felt drained and we took a bit of a slow afternoon where I got a short afternoon nap in. The rest of the afternoon was quite relaxed and we just talked around the kitchen table with a cup of tea.

For supper we were told that we have to have another very Dutch dish – a potato war (my literal translation) which is basically fries with a couple of diffent sauces.

We concluded our time in the Netherlands with a final team meeting where we could recap, give feedback, put out expectations and plan towards the next trip in 2018.

After the meeting Andre and I had to move to catch our bus to Berlin. That is where I am typing this blog post from now. Hopefully we will be able to get in some well needed rest.

We were really hosted so well and treated to incrdible generosity! Thank you Stephanus, Nino, Emile, Wilmarie, Sheranne, Froukje, Yori and Elsabe! Till we see you again!
