As you might know we had a very big mission scheduled for Berlin in October 2017. The plan was to get evangelism teams in from Africa, USA, Asia and across Europe along with Pastor Jim Laffoon and Pastor Rice Broocks. From this the Every Nation church in Berlin would then launch a campus ministry.
The interest for the mission was huge and we had between 40-50 people signed up. However, a call was made by our international leadership to postpone the outreach until we have a full time campus minister in place for Berlin. I believe this is a really wise move as this will enable us to really maximize the resources put into such a mission.
I am curently exploring the possibility to still visit Berlin in November to meet with some of the people we reached during April. I am especially keen to meet up with Richard again. Since our meeting in April he has decided to do a gap year with his local church in Berlin.
Since our short scout trip to Amsterdam in April God has really put that city on our radar. We are still in contact with the students we spent time with in April as well as 2 other couples who have moved from South Africa to the Netherlands. In November we will do another scout trip, do evangelism and discipleship training, visit the campus and explore the opportunities in the community.
The main aim from this scout trip will be to establish a network that will make it possible for us to send a missions team to Amsterdam next year. We are so excited about this opportunity and the potential to reach this city!
