Kenya Missions Feedback

Reflecting on our time in Nairobi, Kenya I am so thankful for the opportunity to have been able to spend two weeks as part of the mission team. What God stirred and reignited in my heart is overwhelming as well as learning so much from Frans (who leads the church plant team and who is a seasoned evangelist) that I am now able to come and implement here in South Africa.

Team week 1

Over the course of the 4 weeks there were about 70 missionaries from across South Africa joining up with the team in Kawaha, Nairobi. The energy in all the teams was just so incredible, stirred on by the same heart and passion for Jesus!

Team week 2

During the 4 months there were about 465 people engaged with either the GodTest or just through relationship and starting conversations. The openness and the receptiveness of the people in Kahawa was amazing and a testimony to the harvest that is ready!

In the picture above is Felix. I reached him with the GodTest and he committed his life to Jesus along with some of his friends. You can hear more from his story in the video below.

During the 4 weeks we started 25 new Discovery Groups from the people who responded positively. A Discovery Group is a place where they weekly come together to learn more about God and that plans that He has for their lives. Many of these groups are led by local Kenyans who were reached during the missions month!

There were 58 first time commitments for Jesus where students and adults combined made the decision to follow Jesus as Lord and Saviour of their lives!

At the end of the mission there was also a baptism service. 20 people got baptized, including Ethan (9) and Ruth (6).

We are just so amazed of God's faithfulness during this mission and His intense heart towards those who are lost!
