This has been one of the years that has gone by the fastest! As we look back at 2017 we can really celebrate God’s faithfulness, provision, guidance and favor! Here are just a couple of things I would like to highlight from this year!
Our trip to Berlin, Germany was very special to me as it was the first time since 2011 that Riëtte and I went on a mission together and also our fist one as a married couple. As you know, we do have a heart for Europe and we are trusting God for great things to happen in Europe. One of the highlights from the April trip was meeting Richard. In November God incredibly opened the door for Riëtte to join our scout trip to the Netherlands where we are looking into a church plant in the future (who will lead that church plant is still not clear). From there I went to spend a weekend in Berlin with Richard and his parents to catch up and hear about the miracle God has been doing in his life since April! He is currently busy with a discipleship school and praying into what God’s future plans for his life is.
God is busy opening incredible doors in Europe and we are excited as a Tshwane church to be able to partner with our European Every Nation leadership team into seeing Europe reached!
Together with a great team we launched our evening service in Centurion at the end of August. God has already shown His faithfulness towards us and already we have seen new leaders being identified and raised! We are so expectant for next year as have a very simple focus in reaching those who do not know Jesus and making sure our discipleship groups are healthy, vibrant and growing!
We are also trusting that the 6PM service will serve as a great platform to draw students into a healthy church community!
On a citywide level over Tshwane campus ministry has really grown a lot and our Hatfield student church started a second service and is almost already at capacity for both services. Next year we will have a new campus plant at Groenkloof and this just again increases our ability to reach and raise the next generation!
At Open Window we have started to pray weekly with one of the lecturers at Open Window who is also a passionate Christian and has a desire to see the students reached. Together with the lecturer and some students we will aim to start a Christian Club that will form part of the official clubs at Open Window. This will enable us as Every Nation Campus to serve within this platform, engage in conversations around specific topics with students and then draw them into discipleship relationships and church family!
We are very expectant for next year and we are trusting God for breakthrough and fruit on so many different levels. As a citywide church across Thswane we are believing for 2018 to be a year where we will see multiple people come to know Jesus. Globally we are currently in 82 nations with a new church being planted somewhere in the world EVERY WEEK! We are trusting that this will continue and we will continue to advance God’s Kingdom in every nation!
For our 6PM service we have a very simple focus. Reach the lost, make disciples and raise leaders! We know that God has given us a specific vision for our 6PM service in Centurion and we are excited to see how God makes that vision come to pass next year.
On campus we have immense favor with Centurion Academy and we will continue with our leadership coaching with their student leaders and we have also been worked into the program for the first years camp where we will have contact time with every single first year joining the first years camp! That is incredible!!! At Open Window we are also expectant to see how some of the new relationships we have built will bear fruit and specifically to see first years be pulled into the Christian forum, into church and into strong discipleship relationships!
Thank you for continuing to believe in us and with us! Together we are able to do more, go further and last longer!
Our desire and prayer is that we will live lives worthy of the Gospel (Phil 1:27), remain in Jesus (John 15) and continue to obey Him wholeheartedly in every aspect of our lives (Romans 12:1).
Those who partner with the ministry of the Gospel (whether through prayer or financial support) are our true heroes and we are extremely greatful. We honor God for your obedience, willingness and sacrifice.
May you have a blessed holiday season filled with the love and peace only Jesus can provide.
